Google Trends: Our Google Search in 2015

Every year Google comes out its annual list of most popular search terms. The list  gives us a snapshot of what people have been looking for over the past year.

In 2015, “Lamar Odom” was the most popular search term around the world  and in the United States. The former NBA player’s who was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October.  Other popular searches included Jurassic World, and American Sniper, the Clint Eastwood-directed film about late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle.

In India, most searches are Floods in Chennai, Star Wars, Paris Attack, Paris Climate Conference, Water on Mars, Shewag retires, Volkswagen emission scandal, Women’s World Cup, Iran Nuclear Deal, Greece on the brink, Maggi tainted food scare, China Crisis and Nepal Earthquake.

The Google Year in Search list comes as a result of trillions analysis of queries over the course of the year, translated into 13 languages and grouped into 47 categories.
