Today most of the Indians woke up at 6 A.M for booking the cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 for just Rs.251. Mostly, for couple of hours many of them not able to order the smartphone because of server down. Later, when they try to add the shipping address and payment the page are not redirecting further it’s refreshed. Some lucky customers ordered and received the confirmation mail also.
For booking the Freedom 251, one needs to provide their name, address, phone number and email address, before heading to the payments page. But take a quick look at the address bar and you will notice that the site address starts with ‘http’ and not ‘https’ as is the secure standard. Even Google Chrome says that the ‘The identity of this website has not been verified’ and the ‘connection to freedom251.com is not encrypted’.
But be careful, your information may not be safe as the website doesn’t use the https security protocol.
What this means is that anyone with ulterior motives could hack this website and get hold of personal information of potentially thousands of eager buyers.
