iPhone SE has Launched For Rs.39,000 going on sale in India in early April

The iPhone SE (Special Edition) is a 4-inch device that comes with a 64-bit A9 chip and an M9 motion coprocessor – making it equivalent to the iPhone 6s. It has a 12-megapixel camera with all the standard features, such as panorama, time lapse, slow-motion, 4K video capture, and Live Photos. The selfie cam has a true-tone flash as well.

While Apple didn’t specifically announce it on stage today, the new iPhone will go on sale in India in early April. Prices for the new iPhone will start from Rs 39,000.

Apple has launched the iPhone SE in two storage variants — 16GB and 64GB. The iPhone SE 16GB will be priced in India at Rs 30,000 inclusive of taxes though there is no word on the price of the 64GB variant yet. Apple says the iPhone SE will go on sale in India in April.

Apple claims the iPhone SE offers LTE speeds 50 percent faster than the iPhone 5s. It’s got Touch ID and Apple Pay built in, too.The iPhone SE starts at $399. Without a contract, you can purchase the device via its monthly payment plan starting at $17.

Apple has also launched two accessories along with the new iPhone SE — leather cases and Lightning Dock. The Apple-designed leather cases will be available in black and midnight blue, priced at Rs 2,900 while Lightning Docks in color-matched metallic finishes are priced at Rs 3,700.

The new iPhone boasts iPhone 6s-level specs in a body the size of the iPhone 5s. It features a 4-inch Retina Display, A9 processor, M9 co-processor with support for always-on ‘Hey Siri’ feature.

On the photography front, the iPhone SE is equipped with a 12-megapixel iSight camera with support for Live Photos and 4K video recording capabilities. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel FaceTime camera with Retina Flash. Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, and on the software front, it runs on iOS 9.3.

Pre-orders will start on March 24 and will be available in stores on March 31. Apple plans for the device to be in 110 countries by the end of May.
