Yezz-sfera is the smartphone maker has unveiled its latest model, the Sfera. A 5.5-inch device that has main feature of being equipped with two optical camera to record photos and videos to 360 °. An innovation that is part of the American approach to promote virtual reality with its smartphones.
To do this, it uses two 5MP sensors located on the front and back, overcome with optical between them, a field of view to 360°. Photos are generated like a panorama where it is possible to navigate with the gallery. The videos can be viewed in the same way on the smartphone or via VR for google cardboard.
The record is decent enough and we were assured that the final version should be better. We talked with Yezz the limits of a screen displaying only 720p HD for virtual reality. The manufacturer justifies this choice by the desire to provide this technology to the greatest world, ie in an affordable smartphone.
The rest of the specifications remain honest with MediaTek SoC Helio P10 8-core ARM Cortex A53, 3 GB RAM and still 32 GB of internal memory. The latter is expandable via microSD port. The screen embeds a 5.5-inch IPS panel display 1280 x 720 px. A battery of 3000 mAh is responsible for providing energy to the set and it’s Android 6.0 that drives the Marshmallow Sfera.
Not only the 360-degree camera is the talking point, but the smartphone also comes with many other amazing innovative features. The SFERA has a Live Preview option that allows you to preview your 360-degree captures in three different modes like Finger-Pick, Full-Frame and HUD as per your choice. There is also an option called Touch Play with which you will able to horizontally and vertically view the captured images or videos manually. For the virtual reality experience, there is a feature called VR Play that allows you to use a VR viewer to view the 360-degree content. It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone also double’s up as an action-camera as it is compatible with action camera accessories.
As earlier said, the smartphone sports a 360-degree camera on both front and back and is also capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. It comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB port. The handset powers a 3000mAh battery that has the energy to last upto 18 hours of talk time and upto 500 hours of standby time. The smartphone also sports a very quirky design and its dimensions measure 169.4 x 82.5 x 12 mm.
