Indian FTR 1200 Summary
The Indian FTR 1200 is anticipated to be on sale in December 2023, with a projected price tag of between ₹ 16,30,000 and ₹ 16,50,000. Currently on the market, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Suzuki Hayabusa, and Ducati SuperSport are bikes that resemble the FTR 1200. Another motorcycle that resembles the FTR 1200 is the Honda CB1000R, which will be on sale in India in January 2024.
The Italian 2019 EICMA display served as the launchpad for the Indian FTR Rally. It is built on the FTR 1200 S, as its name implies, but it has a completely own personality. It is a retro-styled, more off-road competent variant of the latter.
The motorcycle has a big Indian head on the side of the fuel tank and a fresh Titanium Smoke paint job. It also comes with a tan leather seat and a little fly screen. However, the 50mm taller ProTaper handlebars and updated ergonomics allow the FTR 1200 Rally to offer a more upright riding stance, further enhancing its off-road capabilities. Instead of the alloy wheels seen on the basic model, the FTR 1200 Rally is equipped with spoke-wheeled Scorpion Rally STR tyres.
Other than these modifications, the Indian FTR 1200 Rally is unchanged. It has a 1205cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine that produces 117.9 Nm and 125 horsepower. The functions of the suspension and brakes remain the same. The bike is equipped with a monoshock in the back and inverted forks up front. The front and rear brake discs measure 320 mm and 265 mm, respectively.
The off-road focused FTR 1200 Rally is anticipated to be introduced by Indian Motorcycle in 2020, with a price point that is little more than that of the FTR 1200 regular.
