Facebook : will introduce ‘clear history’ tool this year – CFO

Posted in Facebook, Messenger, and Social Network

Facebook will introduce a tool allowing users to clear their browsing history this year, which will affect the company’s ability to target advertisements, Chief Financial Officer David Wehner told an investment conference on Tuesday.

Facebook announced plans for a “Clear History” product last year, but technical challenges have delayed its implementation.

Meanwhile, Facebook on Tuesday removed the accounts of leading British far-right activist Tommy Robinson for violating its “community standards” by promoting “organized hate” and other prohibited behaviours.

The company added it was closing his Facebook page and Instagram profile because its community standards forbid “hate speech that may create an environment of intimidation and exclusion for certain groups”.
