The Chinese company ASU Technology debuted a first-of-its-kind smartwatch at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, one that has a projector.
ASU Cast One uses the world’s smallest laser projector module to project movies upto 60 inches wide in 1280 x 600 resolution, and supports video upto 720p. The smartwatch can cast an image as small as two inches, to alert you about things like incoming phone calls. Alternatively, it can project onto a wall upto six and a half feet away.
The ASU Cast One uses a Wi-Fi connection to your smartphone and works on Android devices using Google’s Android operating system, 5.1 and above.
The device uses Qualcomm’s quad-core APQ8026 processor, up to 1.2GHz, a 700mAh battery, and can be used with video platforms Airplay, DLNA, and Miracast. The ASU Cast One will be available in the United States this summer, after debuting this spring in China. Its suggested retail price is $300. What do you think? Would you wear a smartwatch with a projector?
